How to use

Squeeze a small amount onto clean hands or cotton applicator and spread evenly and thinly on the affected areas of the chin and the face. Rub in circular motions to allow the cream to absorb well. DO NOT apply on broken or inflamed skin. 

DO NOT wash the area for at least four hours after the application of Eflora cream.

Application must be done on scheduled time and based on the direction given by the physician or on the package insert.

Dosage of Eflornithine Hydrochloride (Eflora CREAM) 13.9% w/v Cream

Application is done twice a day, every 12 hours or at least 8 hours apart.

Missed Dose of Eflornithine Hydrochloride (Eflora CREAM) 13.9% w/v Cream

Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember and allow an interval of 8 hours before applying the scheduled dose. 

Do not double the dose under any circumstances.

Overdose of Eflornithine Hydrochloride (Eflora CREAM) 13.9% w/v Cream

If Eflornithine HCl is applied more than the recommended dose and you are experiencing symptoms of overdose such as difficulty of breathing seek medical consult.

Contraindications

People with the following medical conditions should not take Eflornithine Hydrochloride:

  • Hypersensitivity to any of its components

Eflornithine Hydrochloride may have the following side effects:

  • Burning, tingling and stinging sensation on the area of application
  • Redness of the skin
  • Rash, itchiness and swelling
  • Severe dizziness
  • Difficulty of breathing

Warnings

Inform your physician if you are taking medications such as herbal concoctions and other over the counter drugs as this may interact with Eflornithine.

How Does It Work?

Eflornithine works by inhibiting the anagen phase in the development of hair by preventing hair growth. In hair follicles under the skin, it interferes with a chemical that delays hair growth where the medication is applied.
